New Vicar For Barraba

Exciting times are ahead for Barraba Anglican Church. We can happily announce that a new Vicar will be arriving soon to lead ministry in the New Year.

Daniel and Jenni Avenell come to Barraba from Inverell, having previously served in the parishes of Boggabilla and Moree. Daniel is an ex school teacher, having taught Agricultural Science in Rockhampton for 21 years before pursuing a different type of pastoral ministry. Together, Daniel and Jenni have five children and ten grandchildren.

Daniel looks forward to serving in the Barraba community with God’s people from St. Laurence’s. “With Barraba and so many other small towns we recognise both the struggles and the resilience of rural communities. And so we pray and we come to serve. But we also come with hope. Hope not only for rain and for better days ahead. But also hope, and indeed confidence that the gospel transforms communities because it transforms hearts and lives.”

We’d love to invite you to attend Daniel’s induction to the Parish on the 13th of January. Keep checking our Facebook Page for up-to-date details.
