Rev. Phil Coghlan is a Blue Mountains boy and describes that experience as being a bridge between City and Bush. He spent most of his first few decades in the Bushfire prone area before heading off to the city to study. Phil began his study with a Bachelor of Music at WSU and followed it up with a teaching degree at UNE. After a few years teaching, he studied at Sydney Missionary and Bible College to train in ministry. He has spent 2 years as an assistant minister in Inverell before receiving a call from the Bishop to come to Barraba at the beginning of 2015. Phil is married to Meagan and together they have three children: Mirrilee (7), Felix (3), and Chester (0.5). Phil loves coffee, and this is seen in his roasting, brewing and drinking of coffee. He also loves to watch various television series with Meagan, ride his bike (when motivated), walk, and eat meat. Most of all, Phil loves Jesus and loves an opportunity to explore what the Bible says about the real Jesus with someone else. You can contact him here.
